Our Mission

Our mission is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ by the preaching the good news of the kingdom of God, teaching the community by Christ-centered education and healing the sick through compassionate health care.

In Matthew 4:23 it says that “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing ever disease and sickness among the people.” As a result it says that “news about him spread all over Syria…” It is our desire that the ministry in Lodengo among the Pokot would result in the spread of the gospel throughout the whole region. We love the 3 part ministry of Jesus which included preaching, teaching and healing. We have modeled our ministry in Lodengo after Jesus’ example.

The story of the church in Lodengo began with another missionary, a Kenyan man named Rev. Stephen Ouma. He planted the first church among them in 2006 and the Lord has been faithful to grow the church and even plant several other churches. The church began meeting outside under the trees until the time when a simple iron sheet structure was built.  The Pokot men and women that were getting saved have some of the most amazing testimonies. Many of the men were raiders and used to steal cattle from neighboring tribes and even kill people. Other women told about brewing alcohol at home for business and even giving it to their children. But the Lord has done a great redemption work among them and brought them into a healthy, thriving young church.

Worship with the Pokot believers is exciting and God’s presence is strongly felt. In 2011 we had the privilege of bringing them their first Pokot Bibles which had recently been completed.  As many of them were still unable to read we started literacy classes for interested adults and encouraged them to send their children to school. We also purchased several devices that would proclaim the New Testament in Pokot and could be powered by solar energy.
